Volunteer Opportunities

There are several volunteer opportunities at Agape for Youth. These opportunities include:

Agape Strong is the annual fundraising gala benefiting the Youth and Family Enhancement Fund at Agape for Youth, Inc. The funds raised at the event provide additional programs and services for the children and families.

The time commitment as a volunteer is:

  • Monthly Committee Meeting – held at the Agape for Youth office
  • Volunteer at the annual event

The responsibility of the Agape for Youth Fundraising Committee is to oversee and provide active support in the planning and implementation of the Agape Fundraising Gala. Duties include the following:

  1. Attendance at scheduled committee meetings
  2. Identify individuals and businesses to solicit for media and monetary sponsorships
  3. Identify individuals and corporations willing to donate silent and live auction items (e.g. experiences, services, packages, merchandise)
  4. Spread the word about the Agape for Youth fundraising gala via your personal networks, business networks, and social media.
  5. Provide names of individuals and/or businesses to receive Save the Date announcement and invitations
  6. Assist with selling tables/individual tickets
  7. Work the event

Held the following Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year.

This outreach for the children at Agape for Youth, Inc. is a favorite among staff and volunteers. A “Holiday Shop” is created at the Agape office where children are able to “shop” for Christmas gifts for their family members.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Santa’s Elves – Personal shoppers for each child as they select gifts for their family members
  • Santa’s Gift Wrappers – Numerous wrapping station where each gift is wrapped and tagged for the children so the gifts are ready to be put under the Christmas tree

Held at the end of summer/fall each year. We provide a fun event for all the families served by Agape.

Ways you can help:

  • Volunteer! We need volunteers to run games and activities for the youth, pass out meals and enjoy interactions with all our families.
  • Sponsor this event! You have the opportunity to underwrite the event!

Held every Presidents Day, Agape for Youth closes the office and heads to a local banquet hall to put on the Annual Foster Parent Conference. Our foster parent conference is designed to provide ongoing training on trauma, parenting or life skills to the foster and biological parents we are serving. During this all day training our families are provided breakfast, lunch, and babysitting for all the kids. It is a fun filled day that not only supports our youth but the parents as well.

Ways you can help:

  • Volunteer! We need volunteers to provide a fun and interactive day for the kids while their parents are in training!
  • Sponsor this event! You have the opportunity to underwrite the event!

A special THANK YOU to City BBQ for helping sponsor a portion of the 2023 Foster Parent Appreciation!!

Our comfort bag program works to assist those youth who were just placed in foster care or recently been reunified to give them necessary items to make them feel. We provide them with their own duffle bag full of personal care items that they get to call their own when their world may feel like it is falling apart. Volunteers are needed to pack these items into duffels for the Agape workers to take out to the families. Do you have a group that would like to come in and fill these duffels? This need is varied and only needed twice yearly.

Contact Lori Cope at lcope@agapeforyouth.com to volunteer your team to pack these comfort bags.
